A tip seat campaign to reach out to people in London who may be experiencing their own gambling problems or know someone who is.

GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice, support and free counselling for the prevention and treatment of problem gambling. They provide the Freephone National Gambling Helpline as well as live chat with advisers through 'NetLine'. They also host an online forum, daily chatrooms, and provide free face-to-face counselling for anyone experiencing difficulty through their own gambling or that of a family member.

Gamcare have recently started a tip-seat campaign in 50 taxis using Black Cab Advertising

Campaign co-ordinator at GamCare, Catherine Sweet explained that the charity decided to advertise in taxis mainly to advertise their service to audiences they had not reached out to before but who may still be in need of our support. We were also looking to engage with taxi drivers, and test a campaign within an out-of-home context.

The fact that taxis travel across the London area and do not have a fixed location is also a selling point. We think the longer average dwell time (on average 20 minutes per journey) and opportunity to include information across two tip seats will be beneficial.

It’s early on in the campaign but we know people are using the specific link included in the campaign to find out more about our services online.
